The «Metropolitan General» Hospital Pathology –Infections Clinic is staffed with experienced doctors specializing in Pathology and Infections, under the supervision of Professor Charalampos Gogos.
The Clinic’s object and activities are the following:
- Diagnosing and treating patients with issues related to the specialty of Internal Pathology and specifically infections
- Diagnosing, monitoring and caring for patients with chronic infections (HIV, viral hepatitis etc.), sexually transmitted diseases, gynecological infections, post-surgical infections etc.
- Consultation with regard to travelling medicine, that is, information and treatment of issues related to travelling to countries with endemic infectious diseases.
- Treating patients with COVID or long-COVID syndrome
- Information and planning of primary prevention programs via vaccinations and guidance/information for immunocompromised patients.
- Application of infection control/prevention measures in the hospital, antibiotics stewardship and treating patients with hospital infections
- Development of educational/research programs in the Clinic and the Hospital with regard to infectious diseases
