Ever since its establishment, Metropolitan General runs a Department of Anesthesiology to cover the needs of the Hospital.
In particular, the Department is staffed by a specialized Anesthesiologist who covers emergencies, such as heart attacks, central venous catheter placements, etc). In addition, a second specialized Anesthesiologist covers patient transfer with the Hospital’s ambulances. Strictly observing the operation protocols and procedures of the Hospital, every surgeon can freely choose one anesthesiologist either from those already working in the Hospital or new associates. To become an associate-anesthesiologist, one has to file an application to the Administration, with all necessary documentation attached, and become unanimously accepted by the Department’s Scientific Committee and Coordinators.
The Department of Anesthesiology can cover any type of surgical case and emergency, and also provides postoperative monitoring.
