Μetropolitan General boasts one of the most modern Intensive Care Units, which is fully equipped with the latest in technology devices and applies the most specialized and advanced methods. It provides the highest level of continuous and uninterrupted monitoring, care, and treatment to patients whose vital functions are in critical condition, regardless of the group of disease they fall into.
The Intensive Care Unit has 10 available beds, located in independent isolation rooms (boxes). The Unit has been specially designed to be patient-friendly, and with large windows to provide natural light.
It is one of the first Units in the country to have collaborated with the Hemodialysis Unit of the Hospital to apply the methods of continuous hemodiafiltration and plasmapheresis, featuring all the necessary medical equipment.
It is staffed by experienced intensivists, specialized physicians in all medical specialties and highly skilled nurses, who, on a 24-hour basis, provide their healthcare services to patients with severe conditions and follow strict infection control programs and nursing protocols to ensure safe and top quality patient care.
The ICU is continuously assisted by the Diagnostic-Imaging Laboratories of Metropolitan General, such as the X-Ray Laboratory, the Ultrasound Laboratory, the Hemodynamics Laboratory, the CT-scan and the MRI Laboratories.
