Metropolitan General's environmental policy is part of the overall environmental policy that the Hellenic Healthcare Group applies to its Clinics. The HHG Group monitors its environmental footprint and aims to reduce energy consumption, increase recycling percentages and reduce the amount of water used.
Environmental protection is a key pillar of our activity. The Group aims to annually improve its energy efficiency, while promoting a circular economy model and the proper use of natural resources.
Electricity is the main source of energy for all the Group's clinics. Our aim is to increase the percentages of green energy used, through Renewable Energy Sources.
For waste management, we have created a circular economy model that includes the implementation of actions and initiatives that promote the reuse and recycling of products, proper management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste and natural resources, thus adding value to the entire life cycle of the products we use.
HHG Clinics comply with all legal requirements and provisions related to environmental protection. We comply with international protocols for the calculation of pollutants, covering the categories of direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions, and we are certified by an independent body for the implementation of a sound environmental management system.
We communicate with suppliers, patients and customers about our actions to reduce our environmental footprint and train employees on environmental protection issues.
