The 6th Surgery Clinic was founded with a view to providing optimum and safe treatment of surgical diseases, using the most advanced minimally invasive surgery techniques.
Each patient is individually treated, with responsibility and respect, and receives disease diagnosis and treatment with the use of the most modern and technologically advanced methods and techniques.
The Clinic’s Chief, Consultants and Associates are renowned surgeons, each with a different specialty in Surgery, who work collaboratively for the comprehensive cover of the entire range of Surgical Pathology.
Trained in large centers abroad, having constant presence in major conferences and surgery forums, with academic distinctions and actions, as well as continuous post-education courses, the members of the Clinic daily apply the most advanced minimally invasive surgery techniques.
The 6th Surgery Clinic treats almost the full spectrum of General Surgery, placing great emphasis on and holding specialization in Laparoscopic Surgery, both for patients on scheduled appointments and emergencies.
- Abdominal walls hernias minimally invasive surgery (omphalocele, inguinal hernia, femoral hernia, ventral hernia, incisional hernia, etc). The procedures are laparoscopically performed or via newer techniques for the least stress suffered by the patient (methods ONSTEP, TIPP, TEP, etc)
- Anus and perianal region disorders (hemorrhoids, perianal abscess, perianal fistula, anal fissure, pilonidal cyst, and warts). They are treated with therapeutic-surgical LASER (methods HeLP, LHP, FiLAC), and the patient is ready to go home within a few hours after the procedure.
- Large intestine-rectum surgery for benign and malignant conditions, such as:
- Bowel cancer
- Bowel polyps
- Diverticulitis
- Crohn’s disease
- Ulcerative colitis
- Familial polyposis
- Bowel prolapse
Large intestine procedures (right- and left-sided colectomy, total colectomy with J-pouch) are laparoscopically performed, i.e. through small incisions.
The rectum is laparoscopically resected, strictly following the oncological principles, and the procedure provides the possibility to avoid permanent artificial anus in the majority of the cases, thanks to particularly pioneering techniques, such as intersphincteric resection.
Moreover, the Clinic performs transrectal tumor resection with minimally invasive techniques (TAMIS, TEM, taTME)
- Upper GI Surgery (esophagus – stomach – small intestine)
- Laparoscopic repair of hiatal hernia
- Laparoscopic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux
- Laparoscopic surgery of esophageal motility disorders
- Esophageal surgery (benign and malignant diseases)
- Gastric surgery (benign and malignant diseases)
- Laparoscopic surgery of small intestine (tumors, adhesions, etc)
- Liver-bile ducts-pancreas-spleen surgery
- Laparoscopic cholecystectomy
- Laparoscopic resection of liver tumors and metastatic cancers
- Pancreatic surgery (benign and malignant cancers)
- Biliary surgery (malignant tumors, biliary investigation, bypasses)
- Hepatic surgery (hepatectomies)
- Laparoscopic splenectomy
- Laparoscopic thermal destruction of primary and secondary hepatic tumors (RFA, Microwave ablation)
The 6th Surgery Clinic is supported by a team of specialized non-surgical physicians (internists, oncologists, interventional gastroenterologist and interventional radiologists) who accompany the surgical team of the Clinic and enforce the therapeutic outcome of an excellent surgical intervention.
