The Clinic deals with minimally invasive procedures in large joints (Hip-Knee-Shoulder), performing a large volume of surgeries (approximately 500 per year).
Especially for the Hip, the 3rd Orthopedics Clinic is a Certified Hip Arthroplasty Center of Reference, applying the AMIS technique (Anterior Minimally Invasive Surgery), i.e. total minimal invasion hip arthroplasty using anterior approach. Applying the same technique, or even classic methods, revision partial or total hip replacement procedures are also performed.
Also, via mini-open anterior access and arthroscopic guidance, we perform reconstructive hip surgery such as suturing/removal of labrum, cam lesion resection, removal of free bodies in synovial chondromatosis. Finally, we apply biological treatments for incipient osteoarthritis with stem cell injections and growth factors (Platelet-Rich Plasma, PRP).
In addition, our Clinic performs a large volume of minimally invasive knee surgeries, such as medial/lateral unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA), navigation-guided total arthroplasty, as well as total arthroplasty with custom-made cutting guides.
Furthermore, our surgeons’ training and certification has been received by US training centers in robotic-assisted hip and knee arthroplasty with minimally invasive surgery (MIS).
Finally, special interventions on the shoulder are performed in the Clinic, e.g. reverse total arthroplasty and arthroscopy.
The latter, as in knee arthroscopy (all-inside anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, suturing/partial meniscus removal, repair of cartilage defects), are performed using exclusively ARTHREX's latest generation US technology arthroscopy tower with 4K resolution, radio frequencies (RF) and modern apparatus.
