Treatment

Our Clinic applies modern pioneering therapies that are personalized for each individual patient according to the pathological and molecular characteristics of the disease for greater efficacy. All treatments comply with international guidelines.

The Clinic can treat all solid forms of tumors such as lung, breast, colon, stomach, esophageal, pancreatic, bile duct, testicular, gynecological, head and neck, kidney, bladder cancers, etc.

All modern cancer treatments such as chemotherapy, hormone therapy, targeted biological therapies, immunotherapy, radiotherapy, Cyberknife® radiosurgery, chemoembolization, radioembolization, RFA (RadioFrequency Ablation), etc. are used in collaboration with other specialized departments in Metropolitan General.

Chemotherapy and targeted molecular treatments are performed at the One Day Clinic (ODC) by qualified staff. If more treatment days are required, patients are admitted to the Clinic's wards. There is ongoing patient support to deal with any treatment side effects, either out-of-hospital or in-hospital if admission is deemed necessary. There is collaboration with physicians in other specialties, within the proceedings of the Tumor Board, for the best holistic management and treatment of our patients.

In our Clinic we apply research therapeutic protocols to allow patient access to new pioneering treatments and new innovative drugs.

The Chief of the Clinic, Mr. P. Papakostas, is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Hellenic Cooperative Oncology Group, which is the largest research team in the field of Oncology in Greece.

There is also interconnection with specialized centers abroad for exceptional cases of patients who need consultation or treatment.
