In 1998, the medical team of the Clinic starts the application of new technologies in spine surgeries. Since 2002, flexible endoscopic instruments are used. To the moment this text is written, more than 2,000 endoscopic procedures have been performed, with the degenerative spinal pathology cases predominating.
New spine surgery technologies
The application of endoscopic instrumentation, primarily in degenerative spine conditions, tumors (primary - secondary), congenital diseases (arachnoid cysts - Tarlov cysts), syringomyelia and chronic benign pain (postoperative adhesions, etc), increases day by day. The evolution of top-notch technology (flexible, radiologically - guided endoscopes, optic and laser fibers, allows us to:
- Deliver the most accurate diagnosis and simultaneous treatment with the least possible tissue exposure in the surgical wound
- Abolish general anesthesia
- Minimize postoperative infections
- Offer patients minimum hospital stay (one day surgery)
The unstoppable progress and evolution of technology, and the synchronous experience acquired through its use, reviews and adjusts traditional knowledge (surgery) to the current data, with the aim of improving patient quality of life and reducing the overall cost (financial, social, etc) of a surgical procedure.
