At Metropolitan General, one of the largest and most modern Hemodialysis Units in Greece is able to serve up to 180 patients, providing comprehensive renal disease treatment according to the strictest international quality and hygiene standards. In addition, it is one of the few Units to boast a high technology plasmapheresis machine for the treatment of immune & hematologic diseases.
The Unit is located on a specially designed ward, on the 2nd floor of the new Metropolitan General building, and features modern, bright and spacious areas.
In particular, it has:
- Two large hemodialysis rooms
- A separate hemodialysis room for hepatitis B (HBV) patients
- A special surgery room for minor surgical procedures
- Lounge and dining room for patients and escorts
It has electronically controlled beds and chairs, individual TVs, free wi-fi, and patients are served a light meal.
The Unit performs all types of hemodialysis, classic hemodialysis, hemodiafiltration and online hemodiafiltration, with state-of-the-art medical equipment, specialized procedures and monitoring of patients who have undergone renal transplantation.
