Dr. Ioannis Korpakis graduated in Medicine in 2003 and subsequently worked successively at the General Hospital of Chania and the General Hospital of Sparta.
From 2007 to 2012 he specialized in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Asklepieion of Voula.
During this period he received a scholarship to carry out a research protocol in Microsurgical Rehabilitation of Peripheral Nerves.
Upon completion of his specialty, he received an honorary scholarship for Specialization in the orthopedic department of Washington University in the United States of America.
in 2018 he was awarded a Doctorate from the Medical School of the University of Athens

RESEARCH PROGRAMS
In USA Dr. Kormpakis was integral to a number of research projects in the orthopaedic surgery focused on flexor tendon and rotator cuff injuries. For the flexor tendon project, funded by the National Institutes of Health (R01 AR062947) and BioTime Inc.For the rotator cuff project protocol, funded by the National Institutes of Health (R01 AR057836)
In Greece, he received an ELPEN Scholarship for an experimental research protocol, focusing on the microsurgical repair of nerve damage.
