Profit and occupancy rates are showing increasing trends for Metropolitan General over the last year; key factors that will soon result in Metropolitan General being listed in the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE).

Metropolitan General is a ultramodern hospital, located on the north-eastern axis of Attica, and although it counts only 4 years of operation, its growth rates are extremely fast.

Up to now, Metropolitan General has spent 26 million Euros in purchasing cutting-edge medical equipment. It is the only hospital in Greece, and one of the few in Europe and the USA, to house a well developed Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS). Through this system, all acquired images are electronically and permanently stored, allowing the user to retrieve them at any desired time without quality deterioration. Given the properties of PACS, medical images can be sent anywhere in the world. In addition, other types of images can be enhanced and managed. Typically, this system eliminates image printing on films, if required. Metropolitan General is the only private hospital in Greece to accommodate PACS.

Furthermore, Metropolitan General has an electronic mammography and MRI reading system. In particular, the system is a radiodiagnostician’s “second-eye”, resulting in increased sensitivity electronic mammography and MRI reading. At the same time, the incidence of malignancies being undiagnosed in such studies is minimized.

Apart from the above, Metropolitan General houses the most modern cardiac and cardiac surgery unit headed by Sir Maqdi Yacoub. The Clinic has also entered into partnership with the Harefield Research Foundation for the placement of left ventricular assist device (LVAD) in patients who have reached end-stage heart failure –success rates are comparable to current global ones.

It must be stressed that Metropolitan General owns innovative cardiology information systems (Q.S. and M.U.S.E.), as well as the most modern Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). It has 10 ultramodern Operating Rooms, ICUs, High Dependency Units (HDUs), ODC, Angina Division and Department of Chemotherapy. It is equipped with an integrated CAT-5 ethernet network cabling, telemetry systems, and a Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) system. In this context, an ultramodern Department of Physiotherapy and Dialysis Unit are about to be launched.

Metropolitan General has entered into Scientific Partnerships with leading Greek and foreign physicians, as well as with international Hospital and Academic Institutions (Harefield Hospital, Imperial College).
