The Neurosurgical Department cooperates with experienced medical and nursing staff and is equipped with machines and systems of latest technology, such as a modern microscope for intraoperative neuromonitoring.
At Metropolitan General, operations are performed that concern diseases of the brain, of the pituitary gland, diseases of the skull base and of the spinal column, as well as special surgical operations such as minimally invasive techniques of the spinal column and spinal fusion, microsurgical decompression of the trigeminal nerve and surgical treatment of patients with epilepsy.
In combination with the above, the possibility is provided, with modern equipment such as an angiograph, for immediate investigation and treatment, endovascular embolization or surgical, of vascular diseases of the nervous system, such as aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, AVM, etc.
Finally, there is significant support from the modern Department of Medical Imaging for the better planning of treatment of the diseases, from the fully equipped Intensive Care Unit for patients in severe neurological condition, as well as from the specialized Physiotherapy Department for rehabilitation of patients with motor and other neurological residual deficits.
