The presence of family members and loved ones is an important part of patient care and psychological support. With the safety of all and the smooth operation of the Clinic as our primary considerations, the following information clarifies the distinction between a patient attendant and a visitor, and sets out the basic guidelines regarding their presence in inpatient areas.
1. Patient Attendants
- Each patient may be accompanied by one (1) attendant.
- The attendant is designated by the patient or, where the patient is unable to do so, by the patient’s legal representative.
- The attendant must obtain an attendant card from the Patient Admissions Office. This card must be carried at all times while on Clinic premises and presented upon request.
- The attendant card is personal and non-transferable.
- The attendant may not remain in the clinical department/ward overnight, except in the case of minors and patients for whom there are serious medical reasons. In such cases, the overnight stay of one attendant may be permitted, in accordance with the instructions of the Clinic.
2. Visitors - Visiting Policy
Visiting contributes to the emotional support of patients and has a proven positive impact on their psychological wellbeing and overall recovery.
At the same time, visiting arrangements are governed by specific guidelines, designed to strike a balance between the human need for communication and the need to protect the health and safety of all.
- Visitors are not considered patient attendants.
- Visitors are permitted only during the designated visiting hours, as determined by the Clinic’s Administration.
- Entry outside the designated visiting hours is not permitted.
3. Visiting Hours
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU): Daily, from 12:30 to 13:00.
- Inpatient Wards: Daily, from 18:00 to 21:00.
4. Visiting Requirements and Protective Measures
- Visiting is permitted only for individuals who have no symptoms of infection, such as fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, gastrointestinal symptoms, or any other symptoms compatible with an infectious disease.
- Visitors and patient attendants must strictly follow the instructions of the medical, nursing and other staff.
- To prevent overcrowding, only one (1) visitor per patient is permitted inside the patient room.
- In the event of non-compliance, or where deemed necessary for the protection of patients and public health, the Clinic reserves the right to restrict or suspend visiting.
- In our Clinic, quiet is more than a rule; it is a sign of respect for every patient and the challenges they are facing.
- We kindly ask patient attendants and visitors to observe the following:
- Mobile Phone Use: Please use mobile phones discreetly, keep them on silent mode and avoid loud conversations inside patient rooms.
- Empathy: Please be considerate of nearby patients, many of whom may be in a critical condition and need complete peace and quiet.
- During Medical and Nursing Care: During medical and nursing procedures, visitors and attendants are kindly requested to leave the patient room and refrain from waiting in the corridors. The full concentration of our nursing staff is essential to preventing errors and safeguarding patient safety.
