Hospital Admission

Admission

Upon arrival at Metropolitan General, please proceed to the Patient Admissions Office, where you will be asked to provide your personal details, indicate your preferred type of accommodation and sign the admission form. If your insurance provider is not affiliated with National Organization for Health Care Services (ΕΟΠΥΥ) you will then be given an admission notification form, which must be completed by your treating physician. Once the admission process has been completed, a member of the Clinic staff will accompany you for your pre-operative assessment and will then guide you to the nursing floor.

Hospital stay

Metropolitan General offers a range of high-standard room types, from suites to triple rooms, combining advanced technology, elegant design and comfort.
The Clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art electronically adjustable hospital beds, which, in addition to offering maximum functionality, feature wireless connectivity and support earlier patient mobilization and recovery.

All room types are equipped with a telephone, television and air conditioning, as well as free wireless Internet access. In addition, each bed has a specially designed bedside console, providing patients with a nurse call system and dedicated lighting.

Discharge Procedure

On the day of your discharge from the Clinic, your physician signs the discharge form and provides you with instructions regarding your medication and diet. Under the responsibility of the ward head nurse, your discharge form is forwarded to the Patient Accounts Department, from where you may collect it once the accounting settlement of your outstanding balance has been completed.

Payment of your bill at the Inpatient Cashier’s Office, located on the ground floor of Building B, may be made in cash for amounts up to €500, or by any credit or debit card. For amounts over €500, payment may be made only by debit or credit card, or via web banking.

The Inpatient Cashier’s Office operates daily, except Sundays, from 08:00 to 16:00.
