The specialized team of scientists in the Nephrology Department investigates all nephrological diseases through diagnostic and laboratory tests, as well as percutaneous renal biopsy (fine-needle biopsy), for their prompt management and treatment.
It performs pre-transplant evaluation for kidney transplantation and provides care for patients who have undergone renal transplantation, as well as pre-transplant liver evaluation in end-stage liver disease, in order to assess eligibility for inclusion on the liver transplant waiting list.
The Department collaborates with physicians from all specialties within the Clinic, thereby offering a comprehensive therapeutic approach to nephrological diseases.
Within the Department, state-of-the-art Hemodialysis Unit is in operation.
