The Unit specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic disorders of the upper limb.
Indicative conditions treated include:
- Tendon injuries and ruptures (e.g. mallet finger)
- Traumatic nerve injuries
- Compression neuropathies (e.g. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, ulnar neuritis, radial nerve entrapment syndrome)
- Upper limb fractures (e.g. scaphoid fracture)
- Finger stiffness
- Finger deformities
- Syndactyly
- Nonunion fractures (pseudoarthrosis)
- Wrist disorders (e.g. wrist arthritis, Kienböck disease)
- Dupuytren’s disease
- Upper limb tumors (e.g. glomus tumor, ganglion cysts, giant cell tumor of the tendon sheath)
- Ligament injuries and ruptures (e.g. ulnar collateral ligament injury of the thumb)
At the same time, the Unit is equipped with specialized scientific instruments for the functional assessment of the upper limb, internationally certified for clinical evaluation. These tools enable accurate assessment of the patient’s clinical condition at every stage of disease progression.
In this way, each patient is able to receive real-time updates regarding the course of their condition and follow a personalized rehabilitation program.
