The 2nd ENT Clinic has the experience and expertise to manage any condition of the head and neck region, utilizing state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical equipment provided by Metropolitan General.
Outpatient Clinic and Emergency Services
Metropolitan General has provided our Clinic with a fully equipped outpatient facility, enabling the diagnosis and management of all cases, whether routine or emergency, that may disrupt daily life.
Otology
Our physicians are able to assess all disorders of hearing and balance (hearing loss, vertigo, tinnitus). When required, they perform surgical procedures for:
- Hearing restoration (e.g. stapedotomy)
- Removal of cholesteatoma
- Restoration of tympanic membrane integrity (tympanoplasty)
Neck Surgery
The Clinic is able to manage all surgical conditions of the neck region, including thyroid gland diseases, provided that the indication for surgical removal has been appropriately established.
Laryngology
The members of the Clinic have significant experience in the management of laryngeal disorders, with specialization in phoniatrics and swallowing disorders. The Clinic undertakes microlaryngeal surgery in professional voice users, if voice therapy and pharmacological treatment have been exhausted.
Laser
With specialized equipment, the Clinic is able to treat malignant diseases of the larynx as well as other anatomical areas within the specialty, effectively and safely, without the need for mutilating procedures.
Neck Dissection
Neck dissection is among the most demanding procedures in the specialty and is performed in conjunction with the removal of extensive malignant disease in order to ensure oncological radicality and completeness. The extent and type of dissection are determined on a case-by-case basis.
Salivary Gland Disorders
Radical management of benign salivary gland diseases (tumors, calculi) is performed with preservation of facial function and, when feasible, preservation of the gland itself. Malignant conditions are managed oncologically with appropriate selection or combination of treatment modalities (oncologic surgery, radiotherapy).
Snoring – Sleep Disorders
ENT evaluation is essential in all cases presenting with significant snoring and, in particular, sleep disorders. The Clinic is able to manage or contribute to the management of such cases.
Endoscopic Nasal Surgery
Endoscopic nasal surgery, one of the most recent advances in the specialty, allows the management of almost all rhinological conditions in a minimally invasive manner, without external scars, and with respect to the anatomy and physiology of the nose and paranasal sinuses.
Functional Rhinoplasty
A key area of expertise of the Clinic is the simultaneous functional and aesthetic restoration of the nose. Members of the Clinic regularly participate in international congresses and workshops on rhinoplasty and facial aesthetics. This activity, combined with collaboration and continuous observation of leading clinics in the Netherlands and Germany, ensures the ongoing refinement of clinical practice.
Member of the International Community
The Clinic participates through its members in:
- Rhinoplasty Society of Europe
- European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery
Team Approach and Teamwork
This refers to a multidisciplinary approach to patient management. Although modern medicine is characterized by subspecialization, successful patient management often requires collaboration between different specialties.
The Clinic promotes multidisciplinary care, collaborating with:
- Ophthalmologists
- Neurosurgeons
- Plastic surgeons
- Maxillofacial surgeons
- Pulmonologists
- Endocrinologists
- Internists
At the same time, collaboration is encouraged with ENT specialists possessing further subspecialization, when required, to provide the most appropriate and effective treatment.
