The 1st Orthopedic Clinic of Metropolitan General has performed a large number of arthroscopic procedures, mainly involving the knee, shoulder, and ankle, with very good outcomes. It has also performed a large number of total hip and knee arthroplasties, most of which are carried out with a short hospital stay (5–7 days), using well-established and safe techniques for the patient.
At the 1st Orthopedic Clinic, all cases of orthopedic trauma are successfully managed, and in particular fractures of both large and small bones using modern techniques (intramedullary nailing). In addition, a wide range of other orthopedic procedures is performed, such as hallux valgus (bunions), carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren’s contracture, etc.
Finally, its orthopedic surgeons are specialized in the management of complex cases (mainly nonunion of long bone fractures such as the femur and tibia) using an innovative method based on the use of autologous bone marrow. More specifically, during surgery, bone marrow is harvested using special syringes and, following processing, is injected into the fracture site contributing to bone healing.
