The Internal Medicine & Infectious Diseases Clinic is staffed by experienced physicians specializing in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, under the supervision of Professor of Infectious Diseases Charalambos Gogos.
The scope and activities of the Clinic include:
- Diagnosis and management of patients with conditions covering the full spectrum of Internal Medicine, with particular emphasis on infectious diseases
- Diagnosis, monitoring, and care of patients with chronic infections (HIV, viral hepatitis, etc.), sexually transmitted diseases, gynecological infections, postoperative infections, etc.
- Travel medicine consultation, including guidance and management of health issues related to travel to countries with endemic infectious diseases
- Management of patients with COVID-19 and long-COVID syndrome
- Planning and implementation of primary prevention programs through vaccination, as well as guidance for immunocompromised patients
- Implementation of infection control and prevention measures in the hospital setting, antimicrobial stewardship, and management of hospital-acquired infections
- Development of educational and research programs at both Clinic and Hospital level related to infectious diseases
