The 7th Surgical Clinic of Advanced Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery and Coloproctology was established with the aim of providing the most modern, internationally recognized, effective and safe treatment for patients, following the latest principle in healthcare service provision, “patient-centered care”.
It is staffed by experienced and distinguished surgeons with specific further training and specializations, covering the greater part of modern surgery, with particular emphasis on Minimally Invasive Surgery (endoscopic, laparoscopic, robotic, laser) and on surgery of the colon/rectum/anus.
The Director of the Clinic is an internationally certified Colon/Rectal/Anal Surgeon, and the techniques applied are the most modern and recognized. The 7th Surgical Clinic performs a significant number of procedures for benign and malignant conditions, with excellent results. It specializes in colorectal cancer and anal diseases (abscess, fistula, hemorrhoids, prolapse), as well as pelvic floor disorders (hernias, incontinence).
In addition, the 7th Surgical Clinic is supported by distinguished physicians of other specialties, both for the preoperative assessment of oncology patients, the surgical procedure and their postoperative care, as well as for the multifaceted management of all patients, maintaining a comprehensive approach to the individual as a whole.
Laparoscopic and robotic treatment
Cancer of the colon and rectum is treated predominantly laparoscopically or robotically, following international oncological standards, in order to reduce the risk of recurrence and, in accordance with the patient’s wishes, to avoid a stoma, as well as to minimize possible neurological complications that lead to incontinence and/or impotence.
Within the framework of General Surgery, the most modern treatments are performed for the management of hernias (inguinal hernia, umbilical hernia, ventral hernia, diastasis of the linea alba after childbirth, etc.), cholecystectomy, common bile duct exploration and sarcoma surgery, which are performed laparoscopically or robotically.
Emphasis is placed on anal surgery, following preoperative assessment and adaptation of the techniques to the patient, with the aim of achieving the best possible solution that meets the patient’s wishes and expectations. Perianal abscesses, fistulas and hemorrhoids are treated with Laser, endoscopy or the use of ultrasound, depending on each case.
The high level of specialization of the Clinic’s staff allows for the performance of particularly difficult and complex surgical procedures for various types of cancer, such as recurrences in the abdominal cavity, sarcomas, etc.
