The 1st Surgical Clinic provides care and treatment for patients with diseases of the liver, biliary tract and pancreas, iatrogenic bile duct injuries, gastrointestinal neoplasms, and abdominal wall disorders.
For the aforementioned complex conditions and major surgical procedures, the gold-standard approach is open surgery. In abdominal wall disorders, the preferred approach is laparoscopic surgery.
The Clinic collaborates with Dr. Paris Tekkis, Honorary Doctor of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Professor of Colorectal Surgery in the Department of Surgery and Cancer at Imperial College, and Consultant Colorectal Surgeon and Academic Leader at Royal Marsden, Chelsea & Westminster. It also collaborates with Professor Roberto Salvia, Professor of Surgery specializing in pancreatic surgery at the Istituto del Pancreas in Verona.
