The Arrhythmia - Electrophysiology and Cardiac Pacing Clinic is staffed by distinguished, experienced, and highly trained cardiologists. Its physicians have specialized in arrhythmology and cardiac electrophysiology through advanced training in international reference centers and have extensive experience from their long-standing practice in private, public, and university hospitals in Greece, as well as in hospitals abroad.
The Clinic’s physicians hold European Certification in Interventional Cardiac Electrophysiology, Cardiac Pacing, and Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators from the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) and provide scientifically advanced, high-level medical services. In addition, the Clinic actively participates in national and international scientific conferences and demonstrates significant scientific and publishing activity in international medical journals.
The aim of the Clinic is to provide a timely and accurate diagnosis, management, and treatment of all cardiac arrhythmias, using tools and methods ranging from clinical examination and electrocardiography to complex arrhythmia ablation procedures.
Services Provided
- Arrhythmia Outpatient Clinic
- Pacemaker and defibrillator follow-up and programming clinic
- Electrical cardioversion for atrial fibrillation / atrial tachycardias
- Tilt Table Testing for the evaluation of syncope
- Pharmacological testing for the diagnosis of Brugada syndrome
- Electrophysiological studies (evaluation of syncope, differential diagnosis of tachyarrhythmias, risk stratification for sudden cardiac death)
- Therapeutic procedures for the management of bradyarrhythmias and tachyarrhythmias:
- Pacemaker implantation (conventional pacemakers, conduction system pacing / left bundle branch pacing, leadless pacemakers)
- Defibrillator implantation (conventional implantable cardioverter defibrillators, subcutaneous defibrillators – S-ICDs)
- Cardiac resynchronization therapy devices (biventricular pacemakers / defibrillators for heart failure)
- Ablation procedures for atrial fibrillation using all three internationally established methods (radiofrequency point-by-point RF ablation, cryoablation, pulsed field ablation)
- Ablation procedures for supraventricular tachycardias (atrial tachycardias / atrial flutter, AV nodal re-entry tachycardia - AVNRT, accessory pathways - WPW / atrioventricular re-entry tachycardia - AVRT)
- Ablation procedures for ventricular arrhythmias (premature ventricular contractions, ventricular tachycardia)
- Cardioneuroablation procedures (modulation of cardiac parasympathetic innervation) in patients with reflex syncope and vagally mediated bradyarrhythmias
- Left atrial appendage closure (percutaneous transcatheter implantation of left atrial appendage occlusion devices)
High-Level Cardiology Care with a Personalized Approach
The Clinic’s physicians prioritize the provision of healthcare services in accordance with the latest scientific evidence and the guidelines of the European and American Cardiology Societies, while also applying a personalized (precision medicine) approach with respect and understanding of patients’ individual needs, personal characteristics, and clinical profiles.
The diagnostic and therapeutic methods applied are fully aligned with the highest international standards, and the Clinic operates as a center of excellence, utilizing the most advanced techniques and technological developments, supported by the extensive capabilities and infrastructure of Metropolitan General.
